Caring for Mental Health at Neighborhood House
At Neighborhood House, we believe that caring for the whole person—body, mind, and heart—is the best way to help people grow and succeed. This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re proud to share how we support the emotional well-being of both the children and adults we serve.
One way we do this is through our sensory room, supported by the Huntsman Foundation, a calm and quiet space where clients can relax, explore their feelings, and learn how to manage strong emotions. While it’s not a therapy room, it’s full of helpful tools that encourage emotional growth and resilience.
We’ve also teamed up with Project Connection, a local nonprofit, to bring licensed therapists right into our building. Thanks to this partnership, two therapists are now on-site and available to support clients who may need extra help with their mental health.
These services show our strong commitment to supporting mental health and building a community where everyone can feel safe, supported, and ready to thrive.
Exciting News: A New Childcare Location at SPARK is Opening Soon
We’re thrilled to announce that Neighborhood House is opening a new childcare location!
Starting June 1, 2025, we’ll open Neighborhood House at SPARK, our very first satellite site, located at 1490 W North Temple in Salt Lake City—just 5 minutes away from our main campus!
This new site will provide high-quality early education for up to 55 children ages 3–5. Families who earn at or below 80% of the Area Median Income will have the first chance to enroll.
Just like at our main campus, we will offer a sliding scale for tuition, so families pay what they can afford.
This exciting expansion is made possible thanks to our generous partners: the Scott W. and Betsy D. Thornton Family Foundation and Brinshore Development.
