Finance Director

As a member of Neighborhood House’s executive management team, the Finance Director is responsible for all accounting operations, financial systems, and administrative HR duties. Finance Director supports the management team’s business planning efforts, including revenue generation models and projections; creating and implementing effective systems for gathering and reporting required data; and billing for grants and contracts. The Finance Director helps develop and implement management practices that allow the organization to meet its strategic goals. The Finance Director is charged with reviewing, developing, and implementing policies and procedures in the finance and operational realms to ensure efficient and effective operations and regulatory compliance.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, enter, and reconcile financial transactions
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, etc.
  • Prepare adjusting, reconciling and closing entries each month, quarter, and year
  • Prepare financial reports, projections and analysis
  • Reconcile, monitor and follow-up on account receivables
  • Provide support for annual audit
  • Prepare operational, programmatic, capital and grant budgets
  • Prepare billing for government contracts and grants
  • Manage administrative and operational accounting services such as fee for service, payroll, accounts payable
  • Maintain proper contract management processes and protocols
  • Supervise and manage benefits, insurance, paid time off and other HR duties for staff of 60+
  • Identify ongoing operational requirements associated with new contracts
  • Ensure that these requirements are included in organizational procedures
  • Monitor departmental key performance indicators of all existing earned income business activities.
  • Drive systems/process integration to improve operational and business performance.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications and Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Business or Accounting degree required, a master's level preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, ideally with both external audit and in-house financial management experience in a non-profit
  • Experience with nonprofit finance and accounting regulations
  • Expert level accounting software (QuickBooks preferred) and/or fund accounting softwareHigh level computer literacy
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Proven ability to produce accurate and highly detailed work
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Must be able to pass a background check

Community Engagement Coordinator

This position recently opened up due to the promotion of our current coordinator to development manager! Neighborhood House is growing and it's an exceptionally exciting time for the development team. The successful candidate will design and distribute promotional materials to amplify awareness of Neighborhood House programs, partnerships, and opportunities for community involvement; methods to include events, social media, website management, direct email campaigns, monthly e-newsletters and print materials. They will also manage and grow the organization's community partnerships program including outreach and effective and meaningful stewardship of relationships while also overseeing all aspects of the Neighborhood House Volunteer Program for individuals and large volunteer groups.


  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Demonstrated graphic design skills using Adobe Creative Suite and software expertise including all Microsoft Office products, email marketing tools like Mail Chimp, website editing, and social media management tools are required.
  • Exceptional database management experience; volunteers, customers and/or donor tracking.
  • Spanish language skills (written and verbal) are strongly preferred.

Preschool Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Preschool Professional with a passion for working with young children and leadership skills that will successfully motivate others to grow in the field of early childhood. Candidate will directly supervise, manage, and train teaching staff through a variety of methods. Must be self-motivated, genuinely cheerful, easy to get along with, and able to think outside of the box. Candidate should understand, be able to recognize, and implement developmentally appropriate practices as well as demonstrate cultural and linguistic awareness. Must have knowledge of working with children with special needs, challenging behaviors, and different personalities with the ability to support classroom teachers while guiding them through resolving classroom struggles. Must have a strong vision of a quality early childhood center and the ability to inspire others to raise or maintain that high quality.

Kitchen Assistant

$9 - $10/hr DOE

Under the direction of the Kitchen Manager of Neighborhood House, Assists in dishwashing, cleaning and the preparation and cooking of food in a kitchen generally serving more than 100 and less than 300 persons.  The successful candidate will be: A person who is self-motivated for success, understands the operations of a commercial kitchen, able to lift up to 50 pounds, and very responsible and highly dependable. Primary Responsibilities: Run a commercial dishwasher after breakfast and lunch, assist in the preparation of meals for large groups, wash, peel, cut, and seed vegetables and fruits. Assist with cart set-up for breakfast, lunch, and snack daily, maintain clean work areas, including dishwasher, freezer/refrigerator, stove/oven, and food preparation areas.

Program Aide

Seeking candidates for part-time employment on weekdays only – no nights, no week-ends, no holidays! Our sites are open week-days from 7:30 am – 5:30 pm, with free lunches provided daily. Position is at our Cottonwood location. Fun environment working with older adults and adults with disabilities in a family oriented, team environment. This candidate will conduct daily activities with clients, both low and high functioning. Must demonstrate strong abilities to relate to all clients in a positive manner, with good interaction and communication skills and be highly responsible and reliable. Compensation: $10-11.50 hourly.
