April is National Volunteer Month, and we’re thrilled to recognize the amazing work of our volunteers! Their dedication helps us serve families, children, and adults in need every day.
Volunteer Impact So Far in 2024:
- Total Volunteer Hours: 3,627+ hours – That’s thousands of hours dedicated to supporting children, families, and seniors in need!
- Estimated Value: $72,072 – Your time isn’t just appreciated; it has real economic value that strengthens our programs!
- Hours Recorded in 2025 (as of March 17): 1,200 hours – Already surpassing last year’s pace, and we’re just getting started!
- Value of Recorded Hours: $40,164.78 – Every hour volunteered translates into resources and services that change lives.
These numbers tell a powerful story - your kindness, commitment, and dedication are making a measurable impact. We couldn't do this without you!

Volunteer Opportunities – Join Us!
Volunteering is a great way to connect with your community, make new friends, and create a lasting impact. Whether you can spare a few hours for a one-time event or want to commit to an ongoing role, there’s an opportunity for everyone. Your support helps us provide essential services to those in need. We offer volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups, so whether you’re looking to give back on your own or with friends, family, or colleagues, we have a place for you!
One-Time Volunteer Events
- April 17 (2 PM - 6:30 PM): Spring Carnival & Egg Hunt – Help with setup, games, or clean-up. We need 15 volunteers.
- May 15 (3:30 PM - 6:30 PM): Sensory Wellness Night – Assist at sensory wellness stations. We need 16 volunteers.
- June 13: Summer Celebration – A big community event! We need 57 volunteers needed for various shifts.
Ongoing Volunteer Roles
- Adult Day Services: Assistance with activities for adults (Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM).
- Food Pantry: Sort and unpack food donations (Tuesday and Thursday shifts).
- Classroom Support: Work with children (Monday through Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM; background check required).
- Library Help: Assist with library time and organization (various shifts; background check required)

Spotlight on Our Partner: Mundi Project
We’re excited to highlight our wonderful partner, Mundi Project, a nonprofit dedicated to fostering meaningful connections and nurturing new skills through the power of music.
Since Spring 2023, we’ve had the privilege of partnering with Mundi Project, and we always look forward to the joy they bring to Neighborhood House. As part of our intergenerational programming, their talented Teaching Artist, Laura, joins us every Wednesday for two 12-week periods throughout the year. These sessions create a special space where music bridges generations, bringing our clients and younger participants together in a truly meaningful way.
We are grateful for Mundi Project’s dedication to building community through music.
