Community Partners

This is a quick glimpse into the variety of partnerships Neighborhood House enjoys. We are incredibly grateful for the many ways their support enhances our program offerings.

Adult Day Services Partners:

Salt Lake County Aging & Adult Services

We love participating in the Foster Grandparent Program where seniors from the community volunteer five days a week with our children’s programs. They actively assist with activities, serve meals and provide smiles! 

University of Utah College of Nursing

University of Utah College of Nursing students spend two days a week at Neighborhood House for three weeks while in their clinical gerontology rotation. They provide year-round support for daily activities as well as develop relationships with our clients while they provide the care they need.

Westminster College of Nursing

Westminster students obtain a clinical learning experience through interactions with Neighborhood House Adult Day Center clients.

Salt Lake Community College of Nursing

Students receive hands-on experience at Neighborhood House that help teach them the science of healing and the art of compassion.

Art Access

Art Access funds music activities at Neighborhood House to strengthen emotional and physical health in creative ways.Assistance League of Salt Lake CityThis philanthropic program provides entertainment such as music and dancing to adults at Neighborhood House.

Silverado Hospice

Silverado Utah Hospice provides seniors and other family members with skilled care in the community at-home, hospital, or assisted living care.

Salvation Army

Salvation Army provides food and other donations throughout the year to help adults at Neighborhood House. 

Assistance League of Salt Lake City

Assistance League is a philanthropic program designed to provide entertainement such as music, and dancing. This service is provided up to two times a year at no cost to Neighborhood House's Adult Day Services.


Children's Program Partners:

National Charity League

National Charity League connects mothers and daughters to nonprofits in need of volunteers and has a long-standing partnership with Neighborhood House. NCL provides phenomenal volunteer support to Neighborhood House throughout the year for events like Tent Party, Summer Celebration, and Family Fun Nights.

Salt Lake Early Head Start

Neighborhood House is a satellite station for the Head Start program. We provide a classroom where 18 children ages 0-2 participate in activities that prepare them with social emotional skills, family development, and school readiness. 

University of Utah’s Utah Reads Programs

Students pursuing various fields of study come to Neighborhood House year round to provide effective, high quality literacy tutoring for our preschool and school age students. Utah Reads Tutors work with children both inside the classrooms and in their own quiet tutoring space to ensure that all preschool and school age children at Neighborhood House are at or above their grade level in literacy.

Tracy Aviary

Staff from Tracy Aviary conduct Nature in the City, a program for children of all ages. Neighborhood House kids participate in fun, educational activities that get them outdoors and encourage exploration of nature all around us.

Race Swami

Every summer Race Swami offers Neighborhood House school age kids free swimming lessons at their pools to develop physical and mental health in a fun and unique environment. 

Kids Eat!

Kids Eat! provides 12 backpacks to Neighborhood House weekly. Each backpack is filled with enough non-perishable food for one child to eat through the weekend to help families with grocery costs. 

DDI Vantage

Teachers and program coordinators refer parents to DDI Vantage who may need early intervention services or Early Head Start for their children.

University of Utah – Gender Studies Program

The University of Utah Division of Gender Studies offers a space for U students to implement curriculum surrounding race, class, orientation, and nationality with school age children at Neighborhood House.

Wasatch Community Gardens

Neighborhood House kids participate in the Youth Garden Club in the summer. Gardens are a great space for kids to explore the environment, taste healthy foods, release their creative energy, and experiment with nature.

Utah Afterschool Network

Utah Afterschool Network helps Neighborhood House with technical assistance, training and mentoring for staff, conferences, and quality assurance for our afterschool school age program. 

Help Me Grow

Help Me Grow is a specialized branch of the United Way 211 Hotline. Neighborhood House refers families with pre-natal to 8 year old children to receive resources and free services.  

Kiwanis Club 

This group of volunteers helps decorate our building for the holidays, features donation drives, and reads to our toddlers during the week.

Play and Learn Outside

Play and Learn Outside conducts unstructured child-lead learning experiences in nature with school age kids at Neighborhood House. Play and Learn Outside supplies educators, snacks, and new places to explore!
