Neighborhood House kicked off summertime and celebrated 119 years of serving Salt Lake City on June 13, 2013 with the annual Summer Celebration. The event was a roaring success bringing together over 450 of our closest friends for an evening of community-building fun!
Neighborhood House’s grounds were teeming with activity. Attendees divided their time between carnival games, special activities, food booths, community resource tables, and live entertainment. Highlights included the rock wall set up by the Utah National Guard, the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art’s Art truck, and the musical stylings of Maestas Reticulo, Maeve Buchanan and Tina Ferguson.
Summer Celebration by the Numbers:
- 200+ cumulative miles walked by Safety Parade participants
- 40 volunteers
- 120 hours of volunteer service
- 150+ children’s books given away
- 21 community partners set up tables and activities
- 400 hot dogs eaten
- 1000+ tickets won and redeemed for prizes
Thank you to everyone who came and made this year’s Summer Celebration possible. Also, thank you to the generations that have contributed to our 119 year legacy of providing quality, affordable day care and support services for children and adults based on their ability to pay.
