There is a certain restlessness in the air as the daylight hours stretch further into the evening and sunglasses become a more common accessory than scarves. The glory of summertime is nigh, and Neighborhood House is planning on making the most of the season. To kick off our summer programs, we are hosting our annual Summer Celebration on Thursday, June 13th. This year the theme is “Be Your Own Superhero,” and capes and alter egos are heartily encouraged. The event begins with a children’s Safety Parade along the Jordan River Parkway at 3:30pm. Community festivities start at 5pm.
The event is FREE and open to everybody! Don’t miss out on the entertainment, games, arts and crafts, activities, community resources and food! Join us as we celebrate a 119-year legacy and the community that has made it possible for us to provide children’s and youth educational and care services and adult day care for special needs and aging adults
Nineteen years ago, Neighborhood House hosted its first Summer Celebration to mark one hundred years of providing quality, affordable day care service to Salt Lake City families, based on their ability to pay. The party was such a hit that it became an annual tradition. Each year the Summer Celebration brings together families, neighbors, and community partners to frolic in the June sunshine and commemorate the work of many generations of compassionate Salt Lake Citizens.
