Girl Scouts at Neighborhood House

Neighborhood House is excited to announce it now hosts a new troop of Girl Scouts!

Thanks to special outreach efforts by GSUSA, more than twenty of our school age girls, grades K-6, were able to join Troop 1121, a group of combined Daisy, Brownie, and Junior Scouts. They have been meeting every Monday afternoon for over a month now, working hard on learning Scouting basics, including the Girl Scout Promise, the Girl Scout Pledge, and their own troop pledge, written by the girls.

And there is some plain silly fun involved, too! The girls have been learning fun songs and games, as well as how to be friends to their fellow troopmates and others.

The troop is currently led by resident Girl Scout and outreach VISTA, Maria Schwarz, and Neighborhood House’s new Education Manager, Shannon Jensen, but we’re looking for a permanent troop leader. No experience required! Please contact call (801) 363-4589 or e-mail Shannon and Maria to volunteer for troop leader or other positions, or to learn more about Troop 1121.
